Traditionally when people imagined
models they thought of the catwalk queens and runway Goddesses;
women and modelling go hand in hand. The fashion industry is
still dependant on quality, experienced, female models as well
as aspiring young women who want to make their career in
modelling. Female models of all ethnicities are always in demand
for a variety of fashion work; anything from high street chains
to exclusive designer brands. Studios will often require women
to be over 5’8” with a clear complexion but all body types and
styles will be wanted for work.
Women also lead the way in the adult,
glamour and sexy modelling industries, with much work available
in the UK to those who are comfortable posing nude or semi-nude.
Within these industries there is less importance placed on
height or features and more on the models ability to excite and
entices their audience. Work within this area can be anything
from lingerie product shots to adult magazine centre-folds.
There is also some demand for the nude, non-erotic modelling
required in live performance art or still-life art classes.
